The mission and goal of this new association is to promote the cacao industry on the Big Island of Hawai‘i by presenting BICF as an educational and outreach opportunity for local cacao farmers, the hospitality industry and cacao enthusiasts. The Big Island Chocolate Festival is being held on April 26-27, 2024 at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Hawaii on the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Festival encompasses seminars, demonstrations, a professionally judged cacao bean competition, a gala fundraiser and a silent auction. Proceeds from the benefit support the The 2024 beneficiaries include the culinary programs at University of Hawai’i, Maui College, Leeward Community College, and Kapiʻolani Community College, plus Hawaii Institute of Pacific Agriculture, Hawai'i Keiki Museum and Kona Dance & Performing Arts to learn more about each of these organizations you can read more here.
